This 6 week series offers yoga teachings and practices to help with anxiety and depression. It is ideal for folx who are interested in a holistic/spiritual approach to mental health and connecting with other like-minded people.

This is a specialty series and NOT the same as regular movement-based yoga classes. Sessions are a mixture of discussion of basic yoga philosophy, group sharing, and a wide range of yoga practices that are not as commonly taught. Practices include asana (physical movement), pranayama (breath), kriyas (cleansing), mudras (hand gestures), mantras, chanting, relaxation, meditation, and Yoga Nidra.

Benefits of this offering:

  • A wealth of practices to draw on in daily life for grounding, balancing, and self-regulation
  • A routine and dedicated weekly time for self care
  • Space for compassionate and non-judgmental sharing
  • Connection and camaraderie with others in the group
  • Empowerment to reconnect with your own inner intuition, intelligence, and confidence

To help maintain connection after the series ends, all participants receive an outline of the practices, a Yoga Nidra recording to use at home, and invitation to continuing private classes and group gatherings for previous A&D series participants.

If you’ve never met Julia, it is highly recommended to take at least one of her classes prior to signing up for the series. This gives you an opportunity to get to know her teaching style and see whether it resonates with you. Julia teaches weekly classes here Sundays 4pm and Wednesdays 10:30am.
