This 6 week series offers yoga teachings and practices to help with anxiety and depression. It is ideal for folx who are interested in a holistic/spiritual approach to mental health and open to connecting with other like-minded people. We will explore a variety of yoga practices, including physical postures/movement, breathing practices, mantras, mudras, relaxation, meditation, contemplation, and yoga philosophy. Emphasis will be placed on self awareness and efficacy, so that participants feel empowered to apply what they’ve learned to their daily lives.

Sessions will be a mixture of discussion and practice. We will start with 15-20 minutes of group sharing (no pressure!) to foster community, followed by a one-hour practice. This is a closed series (no drop-ins) to help create a container of familiarity and safety within the group. Please do your best to attend all the sessions, as each week will build on the previous week’s content.

**This series is not intended to be a replacement for mental health therapy or medical care. It is also not a “cure” for anxiety or depression. Yoga practices may help improve one’s overall sense of health and well-being; it can be a wonderful complement to other forms of care.
