It pleases us to showcase our Karma Yogi Coordinator, Rebecca F., in our first Interview With A Yogi installment. This beautiful soul selflessly dedicates herself to cultivating our Karma Yogi program and is a delight to practice alongside of – be sure to say hi when you see her about the studio!
Rebecca’s interview:
Q: What was your first experience with yoga?
A: It was 2006, at the busiest time of my life, when I had the least free time- I discovered the beauty of allowing my thinking mind to rest, while my breath and movement intertwined.
Q:What’s your favorite style of yoga?
A: My top favorite style is power vinyasa- often my body needs the benefits of gentle/yin with all the props! Both on the same day = perfection
Q: Tell us what’s playing on your Spotify/Pandora playlists right now!
A: On Pandora “Yacht Rock” from the 70’s and 80’s. For current music, I have a Pandora Valorie June/Brittany Howard station.
Q: If you were a t-shirt slogan, what would you say?
A: “If a tree falls in the forest, there are other trees listening”
Q: What’s your favorite posture and why?
A: Humble Warrior. The transition between strength and balance speaks deeply to me.
Q: How do you practice yoga off the mat?
A: I try to listen and remain open, to smile often, but sigh when needed. To drive slow and laugh hard, I aim to live life to the fullest and let the rest go!
